    The purpose of the Stanford Center for Back Pain is to investigate and characterize the mechanisms of four treatments for chronic low back pain. These interventions (research treatment) include real-time fMRI neurofeedback, mindfulness based stress reduction, cognitive behavioral therapy, and acupuncture treatment. The investigators plan to characterize both mechanisms of treatment effects and efficacy.

  • Study of Patidegib Topical Gel, 2%, for the Reduction of Disease Burden of Persistently Developing Basal Cell Carcinomas (BCCs) in Subjects With Basal Cell Nevus Syndrome (Gorlin Syndrome)

    This is a global, multicenter, randomized, double-blind, stratified, vehicle-controlled study of the efficacy and safety of Patidegib Topical Gel, 2%, applied topically twice daily to the face of adult participants with Gorlin syndrome. Participants will be required to apply the investigational product for 12 months. The primary endpoint is a comparison between the two treatment arms of the number of new BCCs that develop over the 12 month period.

  • Study of Bcl-2 Inhibitor BGB-11417 in Participants With Mature B-Cell Malignancies

  • S1312, Inotuzumab Ozogamicin and Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Relapsed or Refractory Acute Leukemia

    This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of inotuzumab ozogamicin when given together with combination chemotherapy in treating patients with relapsed or refractory acute leukemia. Immunotoxins, such as inotuzumab ozogamicin, can find cancer cells that express cluster of differentiation (CD)22 and kill them without harming normal cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cyclophosphamide, vincristine sulfate, and prednisone, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving inotuzumab ozogamicin together with combination chemotherapy may kill more cancer cells.

  • Study of Fulvestrant +/- Everolimus in Post-Menopausal, Hormone-Receptor + Metastatic Breast Ca Resistant to AI

    Post-menopausal women with hormone-receptor positive (HR+) metastatic breast cancer resistant to aromatase inhibitor (AI) therapy will be randomized to receive Fulvestrant (Faslodex) with Everolimus or Fulvestrant (Faslodex) with a placebo (no active ingredients).

    Fulvestrant has demonstrated activity when used as first, second, or third line endocrine therapy, making it an attractive therapy for combination with other agents. In addition, it is commonly reserved for use following disease progression on AI therapy.

    Everolimus is an orally administered drug that blocks a signaling pathway called "mTOR". "mTOR" acts as a regulator for many processes in the body, including cell growth. Blocking this pathway may have an effect on cell growth.

    The combination of a novel class of agents (mTOR inhibitors) and an established standard treatment for metastatic HR+ breast cancer may potentially increase the clinical benefit by targeting multiple different biological pathways.

  • Stem Cell Injection in Cancer Survivors

    The primary purpose of this study is to examine the safety and feasibility of delivering allogeneic human mesenchymal stem cells (allo-MSCs) by transendocardial injection to cancer survivors with left ventricular (LV) dysfunction secondary to anthracycline-induced cardiomyopathy (AIC).

    The secondary purpose of this study is to obtain preliminary evidence for therapeutic efficacy of allo-MSCs delivered by transendocardial injection to cancer survivors with LV dysfunction secondary to AIC.

  • Study of the Effect of Sitagliptin on Glucose (Sugar) Metabolism in Patients With Heart Failure

    This study will investigate the effects of sitagliptin, a medicine commonly used to treat type 2 diabetes, on the utilization of glucose by the heart in patients with heart failure which is not due to heart attacks. We hope to determine whether improving the heart's ability to use glucose in the blood may help improve the function of the heart as well. If so, this may suggest that even people who do not have frank diabetes but who do have heart failure may benefit from using this medication.

    This study will also investigate the effect of sitagliptin on the body's use of sugar, and of the effect of sitagliptin on blood flow to the heart.

  • Study of Safety and Efficacy of KTE-C19 in Combination With Atezolizumab in Adults With Refractory Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL)

    The primary objective of phase 1 is to evaluate the safety of KTE-C19 and atezolizumab combination regimens.

    The primary objective of phase 2 is to evaluate the efficacy of KTE-C19 and atezolizumab, as measured by complete response rate in participants with refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).

    Participants who received an infusion of KTE-C19 will complete the remainder of the 15 year follow-up assessments in a separate long-term follow-up study, KT-US-982-5968 (NCT05041309).

  • Safety and Efficacy of Cobicistat-boosted Darunavir in HIV Infected Adults

    This study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of cobicistat-boosted darunavir plus two fully active nucleoside analogue reverse transcriptase inhibitors in HIV 1 infected, antiretroviral treatment-naive and treatment-experienced adults with no darunavir (DRV) resistance-associated mutations.

    After the Week 48 Visit, participants will be given the option to participate in an open-label rollover phase to receive cobicistat and attend visits every 12 weeks until it becomes commercially available, or until Gilead Sciences elects to terminate development of cobicistat.
