  • A Study of Adavosertib (MK-1775) in Combination With Paclitaxel and Carboplatin Versus Paclitaxel and Carboplatin Alone for Participants With Platinum-Sensitive Ovarian Tumors With the P53 Gene Mutation (MK-1775-004)

    This is a study of the safety and efficacy of adavosertib in combination with paclitaxel plus carboplatin in the treatment of ovarian, fallopian tube, and primary peritoneal tumors with the P53 mutation. In Part 1, a small group of participants will receive adavosertib along with paclitaxel plus carboplatin to establish the tolerability of adavosertib with this combination. In Part 2, participants will be randomly assigned to receive either adavosertib plus paclitaxel and carboplatin OR placebo plus paclitaxel and carboplatin to assess efficacy of adavosertib compared to placebo. The primary hypothesis of the study (Part 2) is that administration of adavosertib in combination with paclitaxel plus carboplatin in participants with platinum sensitive p53 mutant ovarian cancer will result in improvement in progression free survival (PFS) per enhanced Response Evaluation Criteria In Solid Tumors version 1.1 (enhanced RECIST 1.1) compared to participants treated with paclitaxel plus carboplatin alone.

  • A Study to Confirm Safety and Efficacy of Lecanemab in Participants With Early Alzheimer's Disease

    This study will be conducted to evaluate the efficacy of lecanemab in participants with early Alzheimer's disease (EAD) by determining the superiority of lecanemab compared with placebo on the change from baseline in the Clinical Dementia Rating-Sum of Boxes (CDR-SB) at 18 months of treatment in the Core Study. This study will also evaluate the long-term safety and tolerability of lecanemab in participants with EAD in the Extension Phase and whether the long-term effects of lecanemab as measured by the CDR-SB at the end of the Core Study is maintained over time in the Extension Phase.

  • A Phase I/II, Open Label Study to Evaluate the Antiviral Potential of Combination Zidovudine and 2' 3'-Dideoxyinosine (Didanosine) in Patients With Asymptomatic HIV Disease

    To assess the safety and to evaluate the anti-HIV effect of low-, moderate-, and high-dose schedules of zidovudine (AZT) plus didanosine (ddI) versus ddI alone in asymptomatic HIV-infected patients. Because of the failure with long-term (more than 1 year) use of, frequency of toxicity from, and drug resistance to AZT, drug combinations need to be developed to enable lower, less toxic doses of AZT to be used and to slow or prevent the development of resistance, while providing at least the same effectiveness.

  • Breath Analysis for Evaluation of Radiation Exposure in Lung Cancer Patients Treated With Radiation

    Patients treated with radiation therapy for lung tumors can experience inflammation after treatment. This study hopes to evaluate the use of breath analysis to evaluate changes in the composition of exhaled breath in patients undergoing radiotherapy. If changes can be detected, this may ultimately serve as biomarkers for identifying patients at highest risk for radiation-induced lung injury (radiation pneumonitis).

  • Acalabrutinib, Obinutuzumab and Chlorambucil in Treatment naïve CLL

    This Primary objective is evaluating the efficacy of obinutuzumab in combination with chlorambucil (Arm A) compared with acalabrutinib in combination with obinutuzumab (Arm B) for the treatment of previously untreated chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).   • Blossom Smart Expander Technology in Breast Reconstruction in Participants With Breast Cancer Undergoing Mastectomy

    This phase 1 trial studies how well Blossom Smart Expander Technology works in breast reconstruction in participants with breast cancer undergoing mastectomy. Blossom Smart Expander Technology allows for slow and continuous injection of small amounts of saline, from an external pouch and based on precise pressure and volume measurements, into breast expander implants. It may help in achieving the same reconstructive goals as conventional tissue expansion in a shorter period of time and while avoiding frequent injections through the skin, which cause patient discomfort and require many clinic visits.

  • BPM31510 in Treating Patients With Recurrent High-Grade Glioma Previously Treated With Bevacizumab

    This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of ubidecarenone injectable nanosuspension (BPM31510) in treating patients with high-grade glioma (anaplastic astrocytoma or glioblastoma) that has come back and have been previously treated with bevacizumab. BPM31510 may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.

  • Bumetanide in Patients With Alzheimer's Disease

    This study aims to investigate bumetanide in patients with biologically confirmed Alzheimer's disease (AD). Bumetanide is a potent diuretic administered orally and is FDA approved for the treatment of edema and hypertension. Repurposing bumetanide as a medication for AD has been proposed based on data that demonstrated its ability to "flip" the APOE genotype-dependent transcriptomic signatures in AD mouse and cell culture models. Critically, this discovery was subsequently explored in Electronic Health Record cohorts, which revealed that among individuals over the age of 65, bumetanide exposure was significantly associated with a lower prevalence of AD in three independent datasets.

    Primary Objective: To evaluate the safety and tolerability of bumetanide when administered to participants with biomarker-confirmed Alzheimer's disease.

    Secondary Objective: To evaluate the clinical and biomarker effects of bumetanide in participants with mild cognitive impairment or mild dementia due to Alzheimer's disease.
