Medical Students Rotation
The Stanford Department of Radiation Oncology welcomes 3rd and 4th year medical students. Located in a NCI designated cancer center at the heart of Silicon Valley, our clerkship offers excellent clinical training for the development of future leaders of our field.
During this rotation, students will be exposed to different radiation oncology topics including history of radiation oncology, basic principles of radiation physics and radiation/cancer biology, radiation treatment planning and work-up and management of a broad range of malignant conditions. Students will participate in didactic sessions with faculty and residents and attend tumor boards and chart rounds. At the end of the rotation, students will be expected to give a talk on a topic of their choosing to the department. For students interested in pursuing additional experience within our department, an advanced elective (RADO 398A) is available following the completion of the first rotation.
For students who are interested in participating in our virtual clerkship, please contact clerkship coordinator Tony Giuliano (agiulian@stanford.edu).
