An integral part of Stanford's Cancer Center, the Department of Radiation Oncology provides state-of-the-art cancer therapy and compassionate patient care in close collaboration with pathologists, oncologists, surgeons and other cancer specialists. Our experts use the newest state-of-the-art devices and procedures to provide patients with the best possible results. As academic clinicians, they continually strive to advance the field of radiation oncology by working with researchers to transform the latest discoveries into new diagnostic and treatment modalities. Areas of current progress include pediatric radiation therapy, radioimmunotherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, total skin electron beam therapy, three-dimensional treatment planning and IMRT, high dose rate remote after loading and prostate brachytherapy.
